Your Well-being Improves with Biophilic Design

We strongly believe in the power of plants at Kelly Mac, and human connection with nature is essential for well-being.

A new study from the Healthy Building Program at Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health researched the impact of biophilic design using immersive virtual reality.

Results show that increased biophilic interventions had consistent positive impact on blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability, and skin-conductance levels (the body’s reaction to stress).

How amazing is that?! The more access and visibility a person has to nature, the more likely they experienced a decrease in physical stress on their body. Brain function and cognitive results were also collected and showed creativity scores improved where biophilic design was present.

Style and design are certainly important, especially biophilic design. In this post-COVID world that we are all navigating, where our attention and energy are being pulled in multiple directions, it is imperative to ground yourself in nature for you health, and for your well-being.

Reach out to our design team with your questions, inspiration and ideas. We look forward to working with you, and bringing more plants into your work and living spaces!
